Dr. Izer is a native of Texas and performed his undergraduate training at the University of Houston graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and finished with high honors.
During his internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan he was named Intern of the Year. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan, W. K. Kellogg Eye Center where he was the Chief Resident. He is a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of the American Society of Cataract Surgery. He joined ITEC in 2002.
Dr. Izer and his wife Gina have three children, Sofia, Zachary, and Nathaniel.
Native of Alabama, Dr. Hager performed his undergraduate training at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Alabama (now UAB). After serving two years as a General Medical Officer in the U.S. Army, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at UAB. In 1973 he began his private practice in ophthalmology in Montgomery.
Dr. Hager is Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and is two-term past President of the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of several other professional organizations. His primary interest is in cataract, cosmetic, and refractive surgery
Dr. Hager and his wife, Shirley, have four children and six grandchildren.
The Institute for Total Eye Care, P.C. is happy to announce that Elizabeth B. Keeble, M.D. will be joining the practice in August 2017. Dr. Keeble was born in Opelika, Alabama, but raised in Lanett, Alabama. She attended Huntingdon College here in Montgomery where she obtained a bachelorís of art degree in Biology and graduated Cum Laude. She then attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile and obtained her Doctor of Medicine. She completed an internship at Baptist Health System in Birmingham and her ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Richard Murphy has a B.S. and Masters degree in Secondary Education. He taught junior high schhol in the Montgomery area. He graduated with honors from the University of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham and practiced in the Army and the Montgomery area before joining the ITEC team. ITEC is very proud to add his expertise to our expanding team of Central Alabamaís most experienced physicians in Refractive Surgery and treatment of glaucoma and cataracts.
Dr. Murphy and his wife Martha have two children and live in the Pike Road area.
Dr. Ware is a native of Montgomery and graduated from Saint James School. After high school, Dr. Ware attended the University of Mississippi where she obtained a bachelorís degree in Biology. She then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and graduated with honors. She also received the Contact Lens Practice Achievement Award. This prestigious award is voted on by fellow attendees. She completed an externship at the U.S. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Montgomery, as well as clinical externships in private practice settings. These externships developed her experience in primary care, emergency care, and contact lenses. Her expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases of which she has more than four yearsí experience.
Dr. Ware is licensed by the Alabama Board of Optometry and holds a certificate with the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She has memberships with the American Optometric Association, Southern Council of Optometrist, Alabama Optometric Association and the East Central Alabama Optometric Society. Dr. Ware is married to Christian Ware, and they have been back in Montgomery since 2012. They have one son, Charlie, who is two years old.
