Not only is vision care important for adults it is very important in a child’s development. Academic performance as well as success in other activities is closely linked to good vision. For this reason children should have routine eye exams as early as infancy to detect poor vision as well as health related eye problems. Carmichael Optical Shoppe caters to the needs of infants and children providing children’s eyewear by Miraflex. These phenomenal glasses are BPA free, latex free, rubber free, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. They are made in Italy and are highly durable for the most energetic child and even special needs adults.

Lens Types

Single Vision Lenses: If you need correction for one field of vision, i.e. distance, intermediate (computer), or up close (near vision), your eye care doctor will prescribe single vision lenses.

Bifocal Lenses: If you need correction for two fields, i.e. distance and up close vision, your eye care doctor may prescribe bifocal lenses. Bifocal lenses typically have the top section of the lens for distance vision and the bottom section for up close vision. The segment line between the two types of vision can easily be seen in bifocal lenses.

Trifocal Lenses: If you need correction for three fields, i.e., distance, computer and up close, your eye care doctor may prescribe trifocal lenses. Trifocal lenses typically have the top section of the lens for distance vision, the middle section for arms-length or intermediate vision and the bottom section for up close vision. The segment lines between each type of vision can easily be seen in trifocal lenses.

Progressive/Varifocal Lenses: There is a smooth transition from distance correction to near correction in Progressive/Multifocal Lenses. There are no visible lines on progressive lenses.
